33 of my favorite songz (one from each of the past 33 yearz)

In honor of a record spinning 33 times around a turntable in a minute, and this being the year that I have made 33 rotations around the sun... I am celebrating it in many ways, including writing a list of 33 of my favorite songs. One from each year I’ve rotated around the sun. To make the selection process easier, I narrowed it down by picking one song from each year of Billboards Year-End top 100 songs since 1977. Every year was still hard. Some years, there were fewer options, particularly '98 and '03. And then, there were years like ’83 and ’84, where, like always, there were way-too many fantastic songs to choose from…

inJOY!

1977

# 77. Livin’ Thing, Electric Light Orchestra

I went to an ELO concert in the womb. I feel like it explains pretty much everything about me.

1978

Mick Jagger inspires me, I love watching the way he moves.

#4 Do ya think I’m sexy, Rod Stewart

Brilliant.

This song will always get me on the dancefloor.

1986

#28 Rock Me Amadeus, Falco

Mainly ‘cuz an alter ego of mine is Amber Amadeus, middle name, Rock Me.

1987

#98 (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party), Beastie Boys

This is when my love for the B Boys (and fighting for my right to party) began. I was 10.

If I had to pick a favorite MJ song, which I never could.
